KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaican entrepreneurs Burchell Gordon and Bevon King have launched MORE Workforce, a Miami-based artificial intelligence venture aimed at helping businesses expand capabilities through AI-powered digital employees.
The platform, operating under parent company Rio Cobre Holdings, allows organisations to hire digital employees to complement human teams and support business operations. It officially launched on October 19 via http://moreworkforce.com.
According to a release, the founders, both originally from St Catherine, said the venture targets a common challenge: rising customer expectations and workloads that strain existing teams.
"We are building MORE Workforce around the idea that businesses should not have to choose between growing their operations and giving their people the support they need to do their best work," said Gordon, chief executive officer and co-founder.
Unlike chatbots and automated telephone systems, the company's digital employees are designed to communicate through voice and video and support activities across digital and physical environments, including phone enquiries, customer requests, virtual meetings and interactions via tablets or kiosks.
The company also plans to develop a digital employee marketplace where organisations can select capabilities as their needs change.
MORE Workforce is privately financed and initially targeting the United States and Caribbean markets, with plans to expand into Canada, the United Kingdom and Africa. Its strategy includes direct customer acquisition, partnerships and sector-specific applications.
Gordon brings more than a decade of experience in business leadership, marketing and communications, with engagements involving Microsoft, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, the United Nations Headquarters, Roche Pharmaceuticals and Jamaica National Bank. He holds a certification in AI for Government from the University of Oxford's Saïd Business School.
King, chief technology officer, leads development of the AI systems. He won the 2017 Google Global Impact Challenge Caribbean and attended Singularity University's Global Solutions Program at NASA Ames Research Park. He holds a certificate in new ventures leadership from MIT and completed a venture capital programme through Venture University. He later served as an analyst and investor fellow with VU Venture Partners and was named a Halcyon Global Climate Fellow in 2026.
