Malawian politician-cum-apostle William Thumba has turned to gospel music following his experience in last year’s parliamentary elections.
Thumba is set to release his debut gospel single, Ndikuthokoza Yesu, on 1 September 2026.
Thumba, who is based in Pretoria, South Africa, contested the Thyolo Mikolongwe Constituency seat as an independent candidate in the 2025 General Elections.
In an interview, Thumba said the song is a reflection of his gratitude to God for His faithfulness throughout his life, including his ministry and political journey.
He said losing the parliamentary election was disappointing, but the experience strengthened his faith and reminded him to remain thankful for God’s guidance.
Thumba said the single marks the beginning of his music journey, with plans to release an album under the same title in the coming months.
“I believe the song will inspire people to remain thankful to God despite the challenges and disappointments they may encounter in life,” he said.
The song has been produced by Ashley Ngobeni of Exit Point Media in Johannesburg and features gospel artists Ellen Mtonga and Michael Mpakati.
Thumba is the founder of Heart For Souls International Ministries in Pretoria, South Africa.
