TARANGIRE: THE Conservation Commissioner of Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA), Musa Nassoro Kuji, has called upon Conservation Officers and Rangers at Tarangire National Park to reinforce accountability, professionalism, and commitment in the execution of their duties as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen conservation outcomes and improve tourism service delivery.

Speaking during his working visit to the park , Commissioner Kuji emphasized the importance of carrying out responsibilities with dedication while ensuring compliance with established laws, regulations, operational procedures, and institutional guidelines. He noted that effective stewardship of Tanzania’s natural heritage remains fundamental to safeguarding national resources and maximizing their contribution to socio-economic development.

The visit also included an inspection of the Mamire Gate Project and a performance review session focused on assessing operational effectiveness, enhancing visitor services, and identifying opportunities to further strengthen conservation management within the park.

As part of the inspection, Commissioner Kuji reviewed progress at Mamire Gate, a strategic tourism infrastructure investment designed to improve accessibility to Tarangire National Park and enhance visitor travel convenience. The new access point is expected to simplify entry for visitors originating from Singida, Dodoma, Manyara, and surrounding regions by providing a more direct route into the park.

Speaking during the visit, Assistant Conservation Commissioner and Head of Tarangire National Park, Dr Tutindaga George, stated that the park has completed preparations for the upcoming high tourism season to ensure efficient and high-quality visitor services. She highlighted the completion of key infrastructure projects, including Mamire Tourist Gate and Matete Bridge, which are expected to further strengthen visitor experience and service delivery capacity.
