Manchester United fans instantly made their feelings clear about Senne Lammens after the Red Devils’ 2-2 draw against Premier League side Everton this weekend.
Everton welcomed Manchester United to the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday and the Red Devils and the Toffees played out a cagey 0-0 first-half scoreline.
Bryan Mbeumo received the ball out on the right from Kobbie Mainoo before the United winger cut inside and then slotted the ball into the bottom corner of the net.
Tyrique George cancelled out Bryan Mbeumo’s first-half opener for United against Everton before Benjamin Sesko netted for the Red Devils last in the second half.
Manchester United’s hopes of a victory over Everton were snatched away in the dying stages after a stunning injury-time strike from Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
Manchester United fans took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, and spotlighted Senne Lammens’ performance from the Everton match.
Red Devils supporters were not blaming Lammens for Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ long-range strike, but his reckless goal kick that invited Everton’s late pressure.
One Man Utd fan said: “That goal kick towards the end caused more pressure. Lammens needs to step up.”
While a second Red Devils supporter added: “There’s no composure; even Lammens took a really poor goal kick that immediately put pressure on us. Keep the ball and you’ll win; it’s so frustrating.”
“Also, that last goal kick from Lammens? It’s the 94th minute and your goal kick doesn’t even go beyond the halfway line? Pathetic,” another X user tweeted.
Someone else wrote: “That Lammens goal kick. We might need to shout [Radek] Vitek.”

A fifth posted: “Lammens’ goal kick prior to the 2-2 was horrible.”
“Lammens at fault for the first goal. And then the second goal starts with him shanking a goal kick with 60 seconds left on the clock, gives Everton the ball back and they go up and score. Awful,” a sixth shared.
Somebody else claimed: “Lammens… not blaming him for the goal — that was incredible — but that kick in the 94th minute just gifted Everton a free attack.”
And an eighth suggested: “That Lammens goal kick at the end, man, gave the ball straight to them, invited pressure right back on us. FFS, man.”
United will now turn their attention away from the Premier League and look ahead to their return to the Champions League for the first time since the 2023-24 season.
The Red Devils will now welcome Azerbaijan-based side Sabah to Old Trafford on Thursday evening next week, with kick-off slated for 8pm UK time.
