What was the internet playing during Steam Next Fest October 2026?

Valve just wrapped up another Steam Next Fest. Like all the events bearing this name, the focus of the Next Fest is not just to sell games, but to introduce the player base to new games with a focus on indie titles and playable, free demos.

This focus is why, following the end of Next Fest October 2026, Valve has released a list of 50 of the most-played demos from the event.

That list can be found here, but keep in mind that the order of the games is shuffled every time. This is because Valve doesn’t actually want to reveal which games were most outright popular, but instead give you a general indication of what the internet is playing.

To make the list easier to use, we’ve remade it in the table below. Instead of being random, it’s in alphabetical order and you can click or tap on the name of the game to be taken to its store page.

While some of the games only had their demos available for the duration of the Next Fest, many more have left theirs up for us to keep playing.

Notable demos still available include Slam Tank (pictured above) a third person combat action game where you control a tank… only this tank does a lot of melee, using its gun barrel as a close combat weapon.

Other standouts are Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered, which we covered separately here, and Ignite the Depths, which looks like the once-popular Dark and Darker with the annoying extraction shooter elements removed to make a pure PvE game.

Lastly, before you get clicking below, note that some of the games here are NSFW, and well, they’re outright porn games.
