Dark heart mother
AI summary
Anambra State mothers, who attended the 2026 August Meeting held in Awka, during which they discussed family and community welfare issues, are probably dumbstruck by news that 36 years old Anulika Onyeanusia, a mother, who fancies herself as a ‘content creator” was arrested recently for alleged child pornography in Onitsha, the state’s national and regional commercial hub.
•Anulika Onyeanusia
However, Akurose Ibezim, who is fast emerging as a queen of FMCG distribution and wife of Joseph Ibezim, a marketing strategist and perception management consultant, is definitely aghast and did not hold back when she spoke about the horrifying social media report. Bristling with a combination of indignation and shock, she said: “Even Jezebel with all wickedness could not have done this to her own daughter. I am still shocked that a person that calls herself mother would conceive this kind of evil thought and then use her own daughter to put it into practice and record it on video. Imagine the lifetime psychological scar she has put on that girl. She will become an object of ridicule in the neighbourhood. The government should properly prosecute her. This is clear aru (abomination). If she could do such to her child, imagine what she would do to another woman’s child living with her as a househelp.”
Anulika, mother of the innocent eight-year-old girl recorded a video, which showed her allegedly using sex toys on her daughter, who is a minor. She then uploaded the video to a pornographic platform, so that she can make money from online viewership of the porn website. In response to the viral video, which clearly offended hundreds of thousands of people, the operatives of the Anambra State Command moved swiftly to trace the mother, who confessed to the alleged act.
The heart-breaking incident was evil in every essence. One key question agitating the minds of people that have either watched the video or heard about it is this: what happened to the innate bond between a mother and daughter that naturally drives mothers to love, care, protect and generally guide their daughters on the right path to a fulfilled life? It is extremely grave and disturbing that a girl was abused by her mother. Unconscionable and despicable as it is, in the past there had been instances of fathers-from-hell abusing their daughters, but it was never heard that a mother would abuse the daughter. That was the case until Anulika Onyeanusia allegedly committed abomination for which she was allegedly arrested by the police.
The video showed the girl crying as the mother carried out the hideous act. As it is always unassailably right, the Good Book says in Jeremiah 17:9; “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” The devil-hearted mother calmly bought a sex toy, deceived the girl and then launched into the evil abuse of the girl. The good news is that the girl has been taken into protective custody by the state government.
Onyeanusia is a mother from the pit of hell. She has sold her conscience to the devil. She is a mother whose life will never be the same as long as she lives. Every breath she takes will feel heavy on her lungs, because the social stigma will forever haunt her. Her actions will always stare her in the face all the days of her life. By her action, she has cut the bond of blood, nature and nurture between herself and her own daughter. Now that she is in custody, her world has definitely collapsed as the scales must have fallen from her eyes. Probably, she may never see her daughter ever again.
Think about it, which daughter would be proud of such a mother? Good mothers have the main role of raising their children from infancy to adulthood. Mothers guide, educate, and set good examples for their children, not to molest them. Mothers are good role models for their children. The attitude, behavior and values shown by mothers become the model children copy and by which their character and personality are shaped. Therefore, mothers need to maintain positive behaviour and teach children desirable values. Not to use them to create content for pornographic websites, ostensibly to earn money.
A few weeks ago, this page celebrated golden age mothers for their wisdom in raising children. Knowing that a mother gives daughters a strong foundation for a happy, healthy, and confident life. Daughters learn to value themselves by watching how their mothers care for and respect themselves. Mothers teach empathy, kindness, and how to understand deep feelings through daily love and open talks. Mothers act as a safe place for advice, comfort, and protection during hard times.
Mothers are the hands that rock the cradle. Mothers are protective. Mothers train and raise worthy children. Which part of hell did the mother-monster Anulika Onyeanusi come from? As she is cooling her feet in the police net, she is blaming her action on the devil, an action she perpetrated to make online money.
Erudite Executive Director of the Abuja School of Political Thoughts and former Chairman, National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) while discussing on a podcast rhetorically asked whether everybody must be content creators. That is why the likes of Anulika became social media noisemakers and “authorities” on a variety of issues and topics. Most of the girls who should be learning various skills have all gone into content creation, posting all manner of rubbish online.
Truth be told, Onyealusi is a harmful and abusive mother, who subjected her daughter to physical torture and sexual mistreatment. She forced her daughter to act as an emotional caretaker, to handle an adult responsibility.
Unfortunately, there are mothers who are almost in the same shoes with Anulika. There are mothers who aid and encourage their daughters to engage in mini-prostitution and partake of the sole-called benefits.
A story once had it that Mercy and Nora were sisters. Mercy got married and took her younger sister to live with her. After five years with her husband named Dan, pregnancy was not forthcoming. Dan decided to try his sister-in-law and it worked out perfectly well. Nora became pregnant for his brother-in-law. After sometime, the signs were obvious and her sister inquired who was responsible, she opened up and said her husband was the father of the unborn baby. Hell was let loose. Mercy asked her sister if was mocking her? “So since I could not get pregnant, you chose to do it on my behalf,” Mercy said.
It was not a funny situation. A once happy family broke down in its entirety. Unfortunately, when the case got to their mother, she supported Nora. During a meeting of the married women in the village, her co-wives asked: “Are you saying it is right for Nora to have taken over her elder sister’s husband?” The mother said Daniel was a good man, and she wanted him to remain with the family. Really, a bad mother is evil.
What about mothers who sleep with their sons-in-law? How more devilish can they be? A young mother (names withheld) in her late 40s was driven to a drinking joint by her son-in-law; she was apparently on Omugwo as her young daughter gave birth. Jerry, not real name too, boldly introduced her as his mother-in-law. Some of his friends condemned his action, while some felt it was not wrong to take his mother-in-law out to enjoy herself. After eating and drinking, both obviously became intoxicated and ended in the other room till the next day. An action the hotel owner spat at because he was part of the people that condemned taking his mother-in-law out. Hotel owner said: “I personally advised him to take a side-chick instead of his mother-in-law.”
Some young mothers dress their toddlers in semi-nude outfits. Some mothers encourage their daughters to sleep with married men for money that will account for their actions one day.
Once we were home for the Yuletide some years ago, when two ladies from the same community also returned. Esther, who barely completed her commercial school education came back with a 2023 Toyota RAV 4, while Anne earned a PhD in Psychology. Esther’s mother went for thanksgiving without knowing the source of her daughter’s big car.
Intellectualism has been central to overall human growth and technological innovation. The frontiers were extended by content creators who push out just about anything. There are authorities who speak while others listen and learn. These are the accepted norms that have propelled society to greatness. Not content creation and social media noise.
It is quite shocking that in the moment, intellectual honesty requires courage. Admitting uncertainty, seeking expert knowledge, and changing one’s mindset in the face of evidence are no longer rewarded behaviour. Instead platforms reward certainty, algorithms favour outrage and attention flows to whoever shouts the loudest.
Back then, systems were imperfect and often excluded voices that deserved to be heard, while protecting entrenched power. But they also enforced responsibility. Then, if one wanted to publish a medical claim, one needed researched proof. If one wanted to shape public opinion, he or she needed credibility. Currently, when falsehood is spread, there are consequences which the internet has erased the barriers.
Suddenly, these days, anyone can reach out to millions. People who are less knowledgeable about issues could post from the comfort of their bedrooms. An uninformed teenager who is posting from his bedroom now has the same platform with a seasoned academic. A conspiracy theorist could attract as much attention as a journalist who had spent months verifying an exclusive investigative story. The most extreme, uninformed voices like Anulika Onyeanusia travel the fastest.
