“Bawumia can never be President, he has no message” – Hon. Hawa Koomson fires

Former NPP lawmaker Hawa Koomson has questioned Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s record in government and his suitability for the presidency in a video shared by Jennifer Oppong. She argued that the former vice president had not demonstrated enough achievements or presented a convincing message to voters.

Koomson also challenged claims linking Bawumia to initiatives such as the Ghana Card and the use of drones. She maintained that the Ghana Card project began under former President John Agyekum Kufuor, arguing that the initiative predated Bawumia’s tenure as vice president. She accused him of taking credit for projects she believes were introduced earlier.

She further questioned the impact of Bawumia’s eight years as vice president, asking him to identify major development projects in northern Ghana that demonstrated his contribution to the region.

Her comments have generated mixed reactions, with some people supporting her demand for accountability while others argue that Bawumia’s contributions to digital transformation and government reforms deserve recognition.

The debate has renewed attention on the importance of measurable achievements, regional development and effective communication in political leadership. For many voters, visible infrastructure and improvements in public services remain important factors when assessing political officeholders.

Koomson’s criticism adds to the wider discussion about Bawumia’s record and presidential ambitions. While supporters and critics continue to disagree over his performance, the exchange highlights the scrutiny political figures face as they seek public confidence and support ahead of future elections.
