The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) and the South African Police Service (SAPS) have categorically dismissed claims that arrest warrants were issued against Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma and her husband, Xolani Zuma, ***Cape {town} Etc ***reports.
The couple, who are prominent figures in the March and March Movement, were the subject of widespread speculation following a statement from Xolani Zuma, which suggested that such warrants were imminent.
These revelations surfaced earlier on Wednesday when Xolani Zuma, the acting CEO of SA First Forum, announced that both he and his wife faced imminent legal repercussions tied to the movement’s activities centred on immigration policies in South Africa:
*‘I have just been advised that there is a warrant of arrest that has been issued against myself and the Leader of March and March, Mrs Jacinta Ngobese Zuma, relating to the activities of March and March. I do not believe that it is true, but to the extent that it is, we are available to hand ourselves over to the Police today.’ *
‘We are investigating these claims as we question their validity,’ said Zuma, adding that if the rumours proved to be true, both he and Ngobese-Zuma would be prepared to address any legal challenges head-on.

However, the NPA swiftly countered these claims, stating in a formal response, ‘The NPA makes independent and impartial prosecutorial decisions, guided only by the Constitution, legislation and evidence.’
They urged individuals and organisations to refrain from spreading what they termed ‘unfounded allegations’ that could undermine the integrity of the criminal justice process.
The NPA also stressed their commitment to transparency, noting that any charges would only become publicly known once enrolled in court.
#sapsKZN [POLICE SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT ON THE ALLEGED WARRANT OF ARREST] #SAPS in KwaZulu-Natal hereby dismiss rumours, allegations or pronouncement that a warrant of arrest was issued for the arrest of March and March and South Africa First Forum leaders.
Police do not react or respond to baseless allegations such as this one, however the situation on the ground and the potential of such allegations to cause panic on some residents, police would like to set the record straight and dismiss rumours of any warrant of arrest issued against the two individuals. As a matter of fact, police do not have a trace of any case registered against the two.
Police wish to encourage activists to be responsible leaders and refrain from making statements that can be considered as malicious, reckless and have a potential to incite violence. If a person suspects that there is a warrant of arrest issued against them, concerned parties must contact the police to verify so that they communicate facts.
No amount of public statements will derail police from enforcing the law. Police do not engage in a witch hunt and do not target anyone. Those who wish to disclose a warrant of arrest issued against them are advised to quote the type of charge they are facing so that the public they are communicating to do not speculate and live in uncertainty. #ResponsibleSocialMediaUse ME

Coinciding with the NPA’s announcement, SAPS echoed similar sentiments, clarifying that there was no record of any warrants against the couple.
‘As a matter of fact, police do not have a trace of any case registered against the two,’ they stated, while cautioning activists against making potentially incendiary statements.
‘Those who believe a warrant has been issued should contact the police to verify such claims,’ SAPS added, underlining their proactive approach to dispelling misinformation in a politically charged environment.
