R300 Million Cocaine Bust: Honeydew Police Seize Massive Drug Haul and SUV in Northriding

GAUTENG — In a significant victory against organized crime, Honeydew police have intercepted suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of R300 million following a targeted, intelligence-driven operation in Northriding.

Acting on actionable tips regarding illicit drug trafficking, tactical members of the Honeydew SAPS descended upon a local plot on Saturday, 12 September 2026. The raid, which commenced at approximately 20:30, was swiftly executed and resulted in the successful confiscation of the massive narcotics cache, dealing a major financial blow to regional drug syndicates.

Alongside the drugs, law enforcement impounded a black Land Cruiser SUV discovered at the scene. According to Honeydew SAPS spokesperson, Captain Mokoena, the vehicle raised immediate red flags during the sweep. “The SUV was found displaying false registration numbers and is suspected to have an altered Vehicle Identification Number (VIN),” Captain Mokoena explained, noting that the vehicle has been seized as evidence in the ongoing probe.
