Blacks Power head coach Simon Peter Mugerwa wants his side to establish themselves as a top tier club by overcoming Police in their second match in the 2026/27 season at Hoima City stadium.
The Lira based side started brightly, registering a 1-0 win over fellow newly promoted side Ntugasaze at the same venue.
Mugerwa admits Police will be tough but the focus from his side is to give everything for three points.
“We want to establish ourselves as a truly premiership side and game against Police gives us an opportunity to show our abilities,” said Mugerwa.
“The win in the opening game gave us morale and we want to build on that against a tough side,” he added.
Like Blacks Power, the 2005 champions won their opening match 1-0 at home to Mbarara City.
The two sides will look for maximum points to maintain a perfect start just like NEC and Entebbe UPPC.
The Cops will look to new signing Ivan Mayanja; DR Congo import Bedia Ikamba and Lawrence Tezikya to overcome a resilient hosts’ defensive line.
