Education Ministry salutes Ghanaian teachers on World Teachers’ Day

The Ministry of Education has commended teachers across Ghana for their dedication and sacrifice as the country joins the global community to mark World Teachers’ Day 2026.
In a statement, the Ministry described teachers as being at the heart of Ghana’s education system and credited them with playing a critical role in shaping the minds, character and future of children.
It acknowledged the dedication and professionalism of teachers, particularly those serving in deprived and hard-to-reach communities.
The Ministry said the government, through its education transformation agenda, was focused not only on expanding access to education but also on improving quality, learning outcomes, relevant skills and human capital development.
It stressed that no education reform could succeed without the active contribution of teachers.
The Ministry therefore assured teachers that it would continue to work with them, their unions and other stakeholders to strengthen the teaching profession, promote professional development and address issues affecting their welfare and working conditions.
It also called on parents, communities and the public to appreciate and support teachers, emphasising the importance of their work to Ghana’s development.
“To every teacher, we say: Thank you for your dedication. Thank you for your sacrifice. Thank you for shaping Ghana’s future,” the statement said.
The Ministry concluded by wishing all teachers across the country a happy World Teachers’ Day.
