Mastercard reports 421% rise in African cyberattacks and a 200,000‑person talent shortfall

A Mastercard whitepaper released on Oct. 12 shows cyber incidents on the continent jumped 421% since 2016 and left a gap of roughly 200,000 cybersecurity roles by the end of 2025.
