Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity maintenance in parts of Nairobi, Nandi, Nyeri, Kilifi, Taita Taveta and Kwale counties on Thursday, September 3, 2026.
The planned maintenance, which will be carried out between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in most areas, is expected to temporarily interrupt electricity supply to affected customers.
In Imara Daima and Kenya Builders, maintenance will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and affect parts of Villa Franca Estate, Tashcom Supermarket, Tsavo Gardens Apartments, Valeries Place, Scion Hospital, Elegant Apartments, Kenwood Court, Southern Apartments, Kings Millennium, Mukuru Health Centre, Kingswood Park Estate, Think Twice Imara, St. Bhakita Mukuru, St. Nicholas Academy Embakasi, Unique Estate, Honey Suckle Estate and Gardens, King of Judah, Kenya Builders and Swamirayan Academy, among other adjacent customers.
Residents and businesses in parts of Kitisuru will also experience an interruption between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The affected areas include Tate Close, Kitisuru Road, Forward Close and neighbouring customers.
In parts of Huruma, the maintenance will affect parts of Huruma, Kiamaiko Slaughter, Kariobangi North, Kamunde Road, parts of Light Industries and adjacent areas during the same period.
Electricity maintenance will also be undertaken in parts of Kilimani from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The affected areas include parts of Ngong Road, Nairobi Baptist, Coptic Hospital, Royal Nairobi Golf Course, Kindaruma Road, Bishop Magu, Kabarnet Road, Gardens Sudan Embassy, Marcus Garvey, Togoni Road, Timau Road, George Padmore, Yaya Centre, Chaka Road, Argwings Kodhek, Chinese Centre, Nine Planet Sisters, St Nicholas School, Nursing Council of Kenya, Ngong Hills Hotel, Rose Avenue, parts of Jabavu Avenue, Jamii Bora, Kingdom Bank, Carrefour Supermarket, Naivas, Quickmart and adjacent customers.
In the North Rift Region, customers in Kapsumbeiwa, Nandi County, will experience a power interruption from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The affected locations include Kapsumbeiwa Tea, Kabuti, St Elizabeth Secondary School and adjacent customers.
In the Mt Kenya Region, scheduled maintenance will affect Githungo Primary and Witemere Market from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Areas expected to be affected include Chaka Borehole, Relai Hotel, Githungo Densification, Thegu Estate, Witemere Market, Mathina and surrounding areas.
In the Coast Region, maintenance will be carried out in parts of Watamu and Gede from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The affected areas include Gede Special School, JJC, Total Dabaso, Gede Ruins, Gede Bimba, Bulldog, Timboni and adjacent customers.
Customers in Mackinnon and Bachuma will also experience an interruption between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The affected areas include SGR Mackinnon, the whole of Bachuma, Wangala, parts of Mackinnon Town and neighbouring customers.
Kenya Power will also undertake maintenance covering Voi, Sagala and Musau during the same hours.
The affected locations include the whole of Voi and its environs, Moi Hospital Voi, Caltex, the whole of Ikanga, Mwakingali A and B, Tanzania, Kariokor, Sikujua, Sofia, Jua Kali, Mabomani, Voi Safari Lodges and Hotels, Kaloleni, Mazeras, Birikani, Msambweni, Kasarani, the whole of Sagala, Gimba, Marapu, Kirumbi, Ndara, Kajire, the whole of Msau, Mwasere, Konenyi, Tausa, Ndome, Ndile, Mole, Ronge, Mnyuchi, Rahai, Mwambolembole, Wanganga and Choke, among other adjacent customers.
In Samburu, Kwale County, scheduled maintenance will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Customers in Samburu Town, Samburu Dispensary, KRA Samburu, Jirani Smart Energies, Vingurugan, Kwale TTC, Nyalani, Mbita and surrounding areas are expected to be affected.
Kenya Power regularly carries out planned maintenance to facilitate upgrades and maintenance of its electricity distribution network. Customers in the affected areas are advised to make the necessary arrangements during the scheduled interruption period.
