According to the award organisers, Chacha will be recognised for her commitment to serving local and international communities, highlighting the power of compassion, service and leadership in creating meaningful change.
“Her upcoming recognition celebrates Chacha’s dedication to serving communities and her commitment to making a positive difference beyond national borders. As a Malawian humanitarian, she represents the spirit of service and community engagement that the African Achievement Awards seek to promote,” reads the communication in part.
African Achievement Awards president Davies Chirwa said they are proud to recognise Chacha as a Malawian humanitarian whose dedication to serving local and international communities reflects the values they seek to celebrate through the award platform.
He said: “Our mission is to shine a light on Africans and members of the diaspora who are making a difference in their communities and inspiring others through their actions. We want the next generation to understand that success is not defined solely by titles, wealth, or recognition, but also by the positive impact we make in the lives of others.”
In a separate interview, Chacha said: “I am humbled and honoured to be earmarked for the award. It is a motivation which will spur me to do more and create meaningful change.”
Chacha is known for her various humanitarian interventions.
Recently, she donated K4 million to musician Symon Stephano, creator of the song Machoncho Handede and K1 million to Lackson Jonala who did a remix on the song.
