BREAKING: Saudi Arabia and Turkey have honored Pakistan by giving it the leadership of the newly established trilateral defense alliance, known as the Makkah Defense Agreement.
Pakistan will lead the agreement for the next three years under a rotating leadership system, with each of the three member states taking turns to head the alliance for a three-year term.
The partnership brings together three major strengths:
🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia A major economic power whose financial resources are considered vital to the success of the defense agreement.
🇹🇷 Turkey A country with one of the region’s largest and most capable military forces, providing significant manpower and military strength.
🇵🇰 Pakistan A nuclear-armed power whose strategic weapons capability is seen as a crucial pillar of the alliance.
The new defense partnership comes as countries across the Middle East face growing uncertainty and security concerns following the recent US-Israeli military campaign against Iran.
A major new security bloc is now taking shape in the region.
