Tinubu deserves 2nd term, Yilwatda declares at APC’s Kaduna campaign flag-off

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has declared that President Bola Tinubu deserves a second term, saying his leadership and ongoing reforms have earned him Nigerians’ confidence.

Yilwatda made the declaration on Saturday at the flag-off of the APC presidential campaign in Kaduna State, where he expressed confidence that the ruling party would win the 2027 presidential election.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, the APC chairman said the enthusiasm surrounding the campaign reflected growing support for Tinubu’s administration, particularly among women and young people.

“Mr President, the people have spoken, and their voice is loud and clear. Nigerians are happy. Our women are happy, our youths are happy, and the people are encouraged by your leadership,” he said.

Yilwatda described Tinubu as a courageous leader who had taken difficult but necessary decisions in the interest of the country, adding that the APC was united and prepared to secure another presidential mandate.

He urged Nigerians to assess the administration not only by the challenges facing the country but also by its efforts to address longstanding structural problems and establish a foundation for sustainable economic growth.

According to him, the administration has demonstrated the political will to confront economic difficulties, strengthen infrastructure and reposition Nigeria for prosperity.

He expressed optimism that the benefits of the ongoing reforms would become more evident as implementation continued.

“The task before us is to consolidate the gains, deepen the reforms and ensure that the promise of Renewed Hope translates into greater opportunities, improved livelihoods and shared prosperity for our people.

“We believe that the President deserves the opportunity to complete this work and take Nigeria to the next level,” he said.

The APC chairman also cited political realignments involving the Accord Party, the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Grand Alliance as indications of the wider political conversations surrounding Tinubu’s leadership.

He maintained that the party would anchor its campaign on the administration’s record, ongoing reforms and plans for the country’s future.

At the event, Yilwatda presented APC flags to governors of the North-West geopolitical zone seeking re-election, expressing confidence in their leadership and urging them to mobilise support for Tinubu and other party candidates ahead of the 2027 general election.
