Carte Blanche Investigates Teenager’s Alleged School Shooting Obsession After Brutal Attack on Six-Year-Old

The Sunday, 25 October, episode of South African investigative television programme Carte Blanche examines a case involving a teenager allegedly obsessed with school shootings, an online network where violent fantasies were reportedly shared, and a brutal attack on a six-year-old girl.

The investigation explores how teenage relationships, group chats and disturbing fixations allegedly converged in a hidden digital environment where violence was glorified.

It also examines online interactions and concerning behaviour that may have preceded the attack, raising questions about whether the incident could have been prevented if warning signs had been identified and addressed.

Online Group Chats and Violent Fantasies Under Scrutiny

The programme investigates allegations that online groups provided a space for violent fantasies to be discussed and encouraged.

The report examines the role of teenage relationships and digital communication in the events surrounding the case, including whether troubling online activity offered indications of the violence that followed.

The investigation also considers whether people who encountered the warning signs could have recognised the potential risks and taken action before the attack occurred.
