LRA to Help Gambia Develop Revenue Dashboard

ACCRA, Ghana, September 22, 2026 — The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) will provide technical assistance to the Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA) to develop a revenue collection dashboard aimed at strengthening tax administration and domestic revenue mobilization.

The two institutions signed a Memorandum of Engagement establishing a framework for cooperation in designing, developing and implementing a functional prototype of the dashboard.

The agreement was signed by LRA Commissioner General James Dorbor Jallah and his Gambian counterpart, Commissioner General Yankuba Darboe.

The signing took place on the sidelines of the 8th West African Tax Administration Forum (WATAF) High-Level Policy Dialogue and 23rd General Assembly in Accra, Ghana, following a request from the GRA for technical assistance from Liberia.

Under the agreement, the LRA will help assess The Gambia’s existing revenue data sources, legacy systems and management information requirements.

The technical assistance will also cover the identification of key revenue performance indicators, dashboard architecture and data structures, prototype development, systems integration and knowledge sharing.

The partnership includes a capacity-building component under which LRA technicians are expected to train GRA personnel to independently maintain, further develop and use the revenue dashboard.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Jallah described the partnership as an important step toward strengthening regional collaboration, knowledge sharing and innovation in tax administration.

He said greater cooperation among African revenue authorities provides opportunities to share locally developed solutions, technical expertise and practical experiences that can help modernize tax administration.

“Stronger collaboration among African revenue authorities creates a platform for exchanging homegrown innovations, technical expertise and practical experience to drive tax administration modernization and enhance domestic revenue mobilization,” Jallah said.

He reaffirmed the LRA’s commitment to sharing its technical expertise with The Gambia and strengthening institutional partnerships among revenue authorities across the region.

For his part, GRA Commissioner General Yankuba Darboe thanked the LRA for agreeing to provide the technical support, describing Liberia as a reliable partner.

Darboe expressed confidence that the collaboration would deepen relations between the two revenue authorities while contributing to efforts to modernize tax administration and strengthen domestic resource mobilization in The Gambia.
