Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA again have recued six people after a gun battle with terrorists along the Wasagu- Ayu Road in Danko/Wasagu local government area of Kebbi State.
A statement from the Joint Task Force North-West Operation’s Spokeman, Lit Col. Aliyu Danja said the rescue operation was carried out on September 2, 2026 following a credible intelligence report on suspected terrorists group have attacked Mahinua Village along the Wasagu- Ayu Road.
It further stated that after a gun battle between the troops and the terrorists, the terrorists eventually flee the area and abandoned the six abducted victims.
It added that the troops however recovered a vehicle from the terrorists.The six victims were handed over to the community leaders in the area for reuniting them with their families while the recovered vehicle was kept under the troops custody.
