Moses Simon Credits God, Hard Work, Fans For 100th Super Eagles Cap

Super Eagles winger Moses Simon has attributed his achievement of earning 100 international caps for Nigeria to God’s grace, hard work and the unwavering support of fans and the media.

Simon reached the milestone during Nigeria’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign, joining an elite group of Nigerian players who have made at least 100 appearances for the national team.

Reflecting on the achievement, the Nantes winger expressed gratitude to God for giving him the strength and opportunity to represent Nigeria at the highest level.

He also acknowledged the role played by Nigerian supporters and the media in his international career, saying their encouragement had been an important source of motivation throughout his years with the Super Eagles.

Simon, who has been a regular member of the national team since making his debut, also paid tribute to the coaches who have continued to trust and select him for international assignments.

He said the confidence shown in him by successive coaches had contributed significantly to his longevity with the Super Eagles and his eventual attainment of the century of appearances.

“I give all the glory to God for reaching 100 caps. It is by His grace, hard work and the support of the fans and the media,” Simon said.

“I also appreciate all the coaches who have believed in me and continued to give me opportunities to represent the country. I am grateful for their confidence in me.”

The 31-year-old forward said he remained motivated to contribute to the national team for as long as he retained the physical strength to do so.

He added that reaching 100 caps was not the end of his international career, expressing his desire to continue serving the Super Eagles whenever called upon.

“As long as God gives me the strength, I will continue to play and give my best for Nigeria,” he said.

Simon’s 100-cap milestone places him among the select group of Nigerian centurions, following in the footsteps of former Super Eagles captains Joseph Yobo and Ahmed Musa, as well as legendary goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama.

His achievement comes after more than a decade of international service, during which he has represented Nigeria at major tournaments and in several Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifying campaigns.
