Space Marines take the spotlight (again) in latest Dawn of War IV trailer
Out latest look at the new game focuses on everyone's favourite superhumans from 40K.
Leading up to the release of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV on 3rd December 2026, we have been given CGI cinematic trailers to build up the hype. The latest of these trailers – viewable at the bottom of this article – focuses on the franchise’s posterchildren, the Space Marines.
The very brief description of the video states that the Blood Ravens and Dark Angels are working together in this battle on the world of Kronus.
The pair of chapters are fighting off the Nectron, who already look like Terminators most of the time, but the shot at 1:22 especially reminds us the Terminator 2 opening scene.
While the ~~Terminators~~ Necron have the upper hand at the beginning of the trailer, it’s not long before the Space Marines get the upper hand. We’re not sure where in the Codex Astartes it’s recommended to fly your vehicle into enemy structures, but we’re sure Captain Titus wouldn’t want us to stick to the rules too closely.
The rest of the trailer shows the Dark Angel reinforcements sweeping over the battlefield with Dreadnoughts, Drop Pods and Bikes.
It’s a fun trailer and has us excited for Dawn of War IV even though we’ve never taken the time to get acquainted with the strategy side of Warhammer and Warhammer 40K videogames. This isn’t genre discrimination on our part, but a simple fact that we used to physically play these games and saved all our strategic energy for the tabletop.
Now that we’re no longer painting and moving miniatures around, maybe we’ll give these strategy titles a go.
As mentioned Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV launches on 3rd December for PC, but paying extra for the Commander Edition of the game unlocks it three days early. All versions of the game are currently 10 percent off for the pre-order period too.
On launch, players will be able to control not just the Space Marines and Necrons, but also Orks and the Adeptus Mechanicus.
