2026 World Cup: Ghana spent $1.26m on 2,922 tickets for spectators – Kofi Adams

Ghana spent approximately $1.26 million to procure 2,922 tickets for spectators at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Iddie Adams has disclosed.The Buem MP made the revelation when he appeared before Parliaments Select Committee on Youth and Sports to brief lawmakers on Ghanas participation at the tournament and other sporting matters.The expenditure covered tickets for Ghanas four matches, including three group-stage games against Panama, England and Croatia, before the Black Stars faced Colombia in the Round of 32.Ghanas campaign ended in Kansas City after a 1-0 defeat to Colombia, bringing their World Cup journey to a premature conclusion.He explained that 948 tickets were procured for Ghanas opening game against Panama, while 1,000 were purchased for the England fixture and 974 for the final group match against Croatia.Mr Chairman, we procured tickets to support our funds. We spent about $1.26 million on the procurement of the 2,922 tickets, spread as follows: Ghana versus Panama, 948; Ghana versus England, 1,000 tickets; and Ghana versus Croatia, 974 tickets.
