Wildebeest lands Chitungwiza trio in court
Three men from Chitungwiza have been arrested for killing a wildbeast from a Beatrice farm without a permit.
Douglas Mhishi (45), Washington Chinzou (36) and Tanatswa Chitimbe (19) appeared before Chitungwiza Court charged with contravening Section 59(2) (a) of the Parks and Wildlife Act Chapter 20:14, “Hunting of any animal on any land without a permit"
It is the state's case that on September 30 this year, the accused, unlawfully hunted and killed one wildebeest at Sub-Division 1, Eladale Farm, Seke, using an unidentified rifle.
They allegedly loaded the carcass into a truck owned by one Tatenda Gadzikwa, who is at large, and drove to a house in Zengeza 4 where they skinned it for resale.
Detectives from CID MFFU Harare received a tip off and raided the place, leading to the trio's arrest.
The court remanded them in custody to Tuesday for bail ruling.
