A picture of an in-flight meal served on an Air Zimbabwe flight between Harare and London has divided opinion online after popular food review platform Team Fulo asked followers to rate it.
The meal consisted of sadza, beef stew and greens alongside a small salad bowl, a slice of chocolate cake with cream, and two plastic cups of juice.
The post quickly attracted attention, with much of the debate focusing not on the choice of food, but on its presentation.
Air Zimbabwe responded directly to Team Fulo in a statement posted on X. The airline did not dispute the criticism of how the meal looked, but made it clear it would not be dropping sadza from its menu.
“Thank you @TeamFuloZim for taking the time to rate our meal. We acknowledge the concern regarding the presentation of the meal, and our caterer has been engaged to address this and improve the overall presentation and consistency of our in-flight meals,” reads the statement.
“However, please note that the inclusion of sadza reflects consistent feedback from passengers requesting a distinctly Zimbabwean meal option.
“It forms part of a broader menu that offers a range of choices to cater to different passenger preferences.
“We appreciate the feedback as we continue to enhance the passenger experience across our services.”
