Triangle United, TelOne relegated from Castle Lager PSL as Hardrock inches closer to title

Triangle United and TelOne have become the latest teams to be relegated from the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League following Saturday’s Matchday 32 results.

Both teams can no longer accumulate enough points to guarantee their survival with two matches remaining.

TelOne’s relegation was confirmed after suffering a 3-2 defeat to Agama, who are also fighting to avoid the drop.

Triangle United, meanwhile, went down despite stunning Simba Bhora 2-0 at Gibbo Stadium. The Sugar Boys will be unable to reach the 33-point mark in their final two matches, sealing their fate after Bulawayo Chiefs won 1-0 against Manica Diamonds.

Triangle United and TelOne join Manica Diamonds as the three teams relegated from the top flight so far, leaving one remaining relegation spot to be decided.

Elsewhere, Hardrock moved a step closer to the league title after coming from behind to beat MWOS 3-2.

The Punters raced into a two-goal lead through Arthur Banda and Nigel Makumbe, but Hardrock fought back to claim all three points through goals from Gerald Takwara, Thubelihle Mavuso and Munashe Bamara.

The victory took Hardrock to 69 points, eight clear of second-placed Scottland, who have two games in hand.
