“Sometimes People Are Judging But Please Let me do my Work” -Orlando Pirates Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has sent a direct message to his critics after guiding the Buccaneers to a 2-1 victory over Kaizer Chiefs in Saturday afternoon’s Soweto Derby.

While Pirates supporters have reason to celebrate the important victory over their biggest rivals, Ouaddou used the opportunity to address those who have been judging his work since taking charge of the club.

The Moroccan-born coach made it clear that he wants people to allow him to concentrate on his responsibilities rather than constantly judging his work.

“Sometimes people are judging but please let me do my work,” Ouaddou said.

His comments have added another talking point following a derby encounter that attracted significant attention from South African football supporters.

Beating Kaizer Chiefs is always an important achievement for Orlando Pirates, considering the history and rivalry between the two Soweto giants.

For supporters, the result means more than simply collecting three points. Derby victories carry enormous emotional importance, particularly when the opposition is their biggest rival.

However, Ouaddou’s message suggests that there is another issue he wants people to understand: the pressure and scrutiny that come with managing one of South Africa’s biggest football clubs.

At Pirates, expectations are always high. Supporters want attractive football, consistent performances and trophies. Every result can influence the conversations surrounding the coach and his players.

That makes the 2-1 victory over Chiefs an important moment in the ongoing discussion about Ouaddou’s work.

Rather than allowing outside opinions to dominate his attention, the coach appears determined to focus on the job at hand.

His request to be allowed to work also raises questions about the criticism he has faced and whether supporters should give him more time to implement his ideas.

For now, the Buccaneers have secured a significant result against their traditional rivals, giving their supporters another reason to celebrate.

But the bigger challenge for Ouaddou will be maintaining consistency beyond the excitement of the Soweto Derby.

One victory can lift confidence, but the expectations at Orlando Pirates remain demanding throughout the season.

The coach has delivered his message to those judging him. His performances and results will continue to shape the conversation.

What do you think about Ouaddou’s message? Are Pirates supporters and critics judging him too quickly, or is criticism part of managing a club as big as Orlando Pirates? Share your opinion in the comments.
