Alidu Seidu targets fresh start at OGC Nice

Alidu Seidu is looking to make a fresh start at OGC Nice after completing a loan move from Stade Rennais.The Ghana international has joined the Ligue 1 club on a straight loan deal after Nice secured permission to recruit him under Frances joker rule.The move was triggered by Antoine Mendys ACL injury, which left Nice with the opportunity to strengthen their squad despite the closure of the regular transfer window.Seidus arrival also marks an opportunity for the 26-year-old to regain regular involvement after his time at Stade Rennais.Nice sporting director Roger Ricort described the Ghanaian as a player arriving with the right mindset and believes his experience can help him adapt to his new surroundings.Hes played at two World Cups (in 2022 and 2026) and is coming here to make a fresh start, Ricort said.Seidu brings considerable positional flexibility to Pantalonis squad, with the ability to play as a right-back, right wing-back or centre-back.Ricort also praised his temperament and believes the defender can quickly become a useful member of the squad.We have every faith in him; hes a calm, self-assured guy who has a good head on his shoulders.The Ghanaian has also made clear his determination to make the most of the opportunity after completing a move that had initially been discussed during the summer.In the end, Ive joined slightly later than planned but with an enormous amount of motivation.
