FCT schools get 3,000 books’ donation

Local Education Authority (LEA) primary schools in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have received 3,000 books donated by a women’s political support group, President Asiwaju Loyalist Ladies (PALL).

The President of the group, Mrs Abiola Obaogun Towobola, presented the books to the chairman of Kwali Area Council, Hon. Nuhu Daniel Kwali, at his office yesterday, saying the gesture was aimed at supporting parents and encouraging children to acquire education.

She said supporting girl-child education was one of the core objectives of the group, adding that education remained one of the best gifts society could give to children.

According to her, providing children with the necessary education would enable them to become useful to themselves and contribute to the development of society.

Towobola also said the group had been involved in humanitarian activities across the country, including donations of foodstuffs and household items to vulnerable people and widows in the FCT and other parts of the country.

She said the group had, three weeks earlier, donated foodstuffs and various household items to vulnerable people and widows in Daki-Biyu community in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).

The PALL president, however, said the group was also a political support organisation made up of women advocating the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 election.

She called on the council chairman to engage the women in efforts towards achieving Tinubu’s re-election.

Responding, the Kwali Area council chairman, Nuhu Daniel Kwali, appreciated the group for the donation, saying the books would support pupils in primary schools across the area council.

He said Kwali had remained an APC local government over the years and pledged that the council would mobilise women across its 10 political wards towards the re-election of Tinubu and other National Assembly candidates in the 2027 elections.

The chairman said the donated books would be distributed to 105 primary schools, including private schools, across the area council to ensure that more pupils and parents benefited from the gesture.
