Cassypool Capon Endorses Ida Odinga for 2032 Presidency, Floats Her as Ruto’s 2027 Running Mate

Cassypool Capon has endorsed Ida Odinga for the presidency in 2032 and proposed that she run as William Ruto’s running mate in the 2027 General Election.

The entertainer made the proposal in a statement shared on Friday, October 16, 2026. He framed both suggestions as his personal position, not as a decision by Odinga or any political party.

Ida Odinga currently serves as Kenya’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to UNEP and UNON, a role she took up after President Ruto appointed her in 2026. She has not announced plans to contest the presidency, and she has described herself as an industrialist rather than a politician. She has also spoken about taking time to mourn her husband, Raila Odinga, who died in October 2025.

In his statement, Cassypool questioned whether political discussions in Siaya County reflect the views of the entire country. He said the political noise witnessed in Siaya does not necessarily represent the feelings of every Kenyan, and that a silent majority would support his proposal. He added that Odinga deserves consideration on her own merit.

Cassypool said the public will be watching how political leaders respond to the suggestion. There is no confirmation that President Ruto will consider or act on the running mate proposal.
