Severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours, hail, lightning and damaging winds are expected over the Mpumalanga Highveld, Pretoria and north-western KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday afternoon, with a Level 1 warning around Queenstown in the Eastern Cape. Upington is the hottest at 37°C, while eMalahleni, Ermelo, Newcastle and Queenstown have the best chance of rain at 60%.

Gauteng and Mpumalanga clear up on Monday and Tuesday before storms return on Wednesday, while the Free State and Northern Cape keep a chance of thundershowers every day. Cape Town cools to 19°C with slight rain on Tuesday, and Richards Bay heats up to 38°C.
