Kidman reprises her role as Gillian Owens, the freer, more impulsive sister facing a new set of magical and familial challenges, while her bond with Sally remains the emotional core of the story.

Bullock emphasized that the sequel works hard to preserve the original’s DNA, citing essential elements like sisterhood, humor, and the ability to pivot from lighthearted moments to darker, more tragic themes.

Bullock remarked that the film does not shy away from grief or dark spaces, while keeping its warmth and wit intact—stressing that Sally and Gillian’s relationship must remain the foundation if the franchise continues.

Acclaimed Danish filmmaker Susanne Bier—director of “Brothers”, “Bird Box”, and “The Night Manager”—helms the sequel.

Her appointment aims to preserve the original’s distinct tone while expanding the narrative to encompass a new generation of Owens women.

The story introduces a multi-generational dynamic where the family faces a new magical curse threatening to tear them apart, forcing the women to unite against the danger.

The ensemble cast includes Joey King, Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña, and Solly McLeod, alongside Wiest and Channing. King and Williams portray the younger generation of the Owens family, embodying the passage of power, magic, and legacy across generations.

“Practical Magic 2” follows the Owens women as they confront a generational curse. Sally and Gillian must reclaim their power while joining forces with the younger family members.

More than just a sequel, the film seeks to revive a universe anchored in magic, sisterhood, love, and family ties.

Based on the world created by author Alice Hoffman in her novel “**The Book of Magic”, the screenplay was penned by Akiva Goldsman, Georgia Pritchett, and Kelly Marcel. Warner Bros. Pictures is handling worldwide distribution, with United Motion Pictures distributing the film in Egypt.
