Agric Minister distributes skills-training equipment to 235 people in Asunafo South

AI summary
The Member of Parliament for Asunafo South and Minister for Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, has distributed vocational training equipment to 235 people in his constituency to support their work and help address youth unemployment.
The items, presented at a ceremony at Noberkwa in the Ahafo Region, included sewing machines, industrial sewing machines, hair dryers, barbering equipment and carpentry tools.
Addressing beneficiaries at the event, Mr Opoku said tackling unemployment required sustained support from the government and other public officials for people pursuing vocational skills such as hairdressing, carpentry and fashion designing.
He said providing trainees and their masters with the necessary tools would improve their productivity and help them establish or expand their businesses.
According to the minister, such interventions could also create opportunities for more young people to become economically independent rather than remain unemployed.
Some beneficiaries, including vocational training masters and trainees, expressed gratitude to Mr Opoku for the support.
Speaking to Adom News correspondent Sammy Asare, they described the equipment as a relief and pledged to put the items to good use to improve their work.
The initiative is expected to strengthen vocational training and support skills development among beneficiaries in the Asunafo South Constituency.
