More than 500 foreign companies and 3,000 national exhibitors are expected to take part in the 61st edition of the Maputo International Fair, which runs from 31 August to 6 September. The event has so far confirmed the participation of 28 countries, with Brazil highlighted as the Guest Country of Honour.
According to the Director-General of the Investment and Trade Agency, 28 countries have been confirmed so far, two short of the target set by the organisers.
This year’s edition will feature representation from all 11 provinces of Mozambique, in an initiative aimed at strengthening the promotion of business, investment and partnership opportunities.
Brazil will be the Guest Country of Honour at the 61st FACIM, while business forums with representatives from China and the United Arab Emirates are also planned.
One of the main new features will be the focus on digital transformation. Under the theme “Digital and Energy Transformation: Towards a Sustainable Economy”, the organisers intend to digitise the entire fair process.
Registration, stand reservations and payments, access to the programme, meeting scheduling and B2B business meetings will all be handled through digital platforms.
The organisers expect around 55,000 visitors over the seven days of the fair.
FACIM will also feature pavilions dedicated to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, the provinces and sectors considered strategic, as well as spaces for various government ministries and state institutions.
The fair aims to consolidate its position as a platform for promoting investment and business, bringing national and foreign companies together and creating opportunities for new commercial partnerships.
