King Mohammed VI has made security and stability a strategic project for the African continent, said, on Sunday in Luanda, the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, who is representing the Sovereign at the African Union’s extraordinary session dedicated to strengthening conflict prevention and resolution mechanisms in Africa.
“I was honored to represent His Majesty the King, may God assist Him, at this extraordinary Summit addressing the issue of conflict resolution. The Sovereign has made peace and stability a strategic project of Morocco for the African continent,” Akhannouch told the press on the sidelines of his participation in the meeting.
He emphasized that Morocco’s position on conflict resolution is to favor a preventive and lasting approach focused on finding solutions to economic and social problems, as well as the challenges of peace and stability.
He noted that Morocco, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty the King, continuously works to promote South-South cooperation within a participatory and partnership framework among the countries of the continent.
Akhannouch was accompanied at the Summit proceedings by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the African Union and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, Mohamed Arrouchi, and Morocco’s Ambassador to Angola, Saadia Alaoui.
