The Frelimo party has donated a cheque for 2 million meticais, various food, hygiene and cleaning products, as well as office and dormitory equipment, to the Armando Emílio Guebuza Medium Polytechnic Institute (IMPAAEG), located in Chigodole, Vanduzi district, Manica province, central Mozambique.
The office equipment includes 15 computers, 10 desktop and five laptop computers, and two printers. The dormitory equipment and supplies include two televisions for the two dormitories, two freezers, plates, pots, spoons and blankets. The donation also includes food products, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste and other personal and communal hygiene products.

The donation also includes three agricultural tillers and 100 goats. The 2 million meticais will be used to ensure the institution’s operations.
The Armando Emílio Guebuza Medium Polytechnic Institute began operating in 2013 and is dedicated to training the children of former combatants and other citizens.
The institution offers courses in agriculture and livestock farming, management, accounting, and hotel management and tourism.
In recent years, due to various factors, conditions at the centre have deteriorated, leaving students in what have been described as precarious conditions.

Frelimo President and President of the Republic of Mozambique Daniel Chapo explained on Thursday (27), during the handover of the goods to the institute, that the gesture forms part of the party’s social responsibility.
Chapo said the institute’s conditions were extremely poor, which was why Frelimo decided to rehabilitate the facilities and create better conditions for the students.
“We visited this place and saw that the rehabilitation works are under way. They are progressing well. We believe that, soon, we will be able to come and hand over this centre,” Daniel Chapo said.
“As is customary, when someone goes to visit another person, they take something to offer them. So, when we thought about coming to visit this educational institution, we brought some goods to offer our brothers and sisters who live here at this centre,” he added.

During a brief meeting with the people and students of Chigodole, Chapo stressed the need to preserve peace and national unity for the development of the country.
He said that the development of any country requires unity among its citizens, and called for vigilance and efforts to combat the enemies of peace and national development.
“For us to have peace and development, we must first do three things: national unity, peace and vigilance. The Frelimo party belongs to the people, which is why it has never resorted to speeches of hatred, violence or instability. Therefore, let us remain vigilant and work to develop Mozambique,” he urged.
Daniel Chapo assured that Frelimo would continue to support this and other educational institutions across the country.
The Armando Emílio Guebuza Medium Polytechnic Institute currently has 340 students from all provinces of the country, most of them children and descendants of former combatants in the national liberation struggle.
Of the total, 147 are women and 193 are men.
