Global Esports Federation (GEF) President Sir Paul J. Foster is set to make his maiden visit to Africa when he arrives in Kenya for a four-day official engagement from September 6 to 9, 2026.
The visit, announced by the Esports Kenya Federation (ESKF), is expected to bring together government officials, industry stakeholders, grassroots players, academia and the diplomatic community as Kenya seeks to strengthen its position in the rapidly growing global esports ecosystem.
During his stay, Foster will hold a series of strategic engagements, including high-level government meetings and a university address at the Catholic University of East Africa.
He will also attend GEFCon Nairobi at Weston Hotel, participate in a media roundtable and visit grassroots esports facilities.
GEFCon Nairobi will provide a platform for esports stakeholders, industry leaders, brands, policymakers, academics and other partners to discuss the growth and development of esports in Kenya and across Africa.
ESKF President Ronny Lusigi described the visit as significant recognition of Kenya's growing influence in the global esports landscape.
Lusigi said the engagement offers an opportunity to advance discussions on Kenya's capacity to host major esports events, develop talent pathways and strengthen long-term collaboration between the GEF and Kenyan stakeholders.
The visit is also expected to open opportunities for knowledge exchange, investment, talent development and wider collaboration within Africa's esports ecosystem.
Foster will be accompanied by GEF Vice President and African Esports Development Federation President Tommy Sithole, as well as GEF Chief Impact Officer Thanos Karagrounas.
