KPL Relegation Battle: Mombasa United Remain Bottom as Ulinzi Struggle

Mombasa United remain at the foot of the 2026/27 FKF Premier League table as the competition heads into Monday’s fixtures, with the newly promoted side facing an uphill task after collecting just one point from their opening five matches.

The coastal club have endured a difficult introduction to top-flight football, recording one draw and four defeats.

Their goal difference of -6 is the worst in the league, reflecting the challenge they face as they attempt to find their footing among the country’s leading clubs.

Ulinzi Stars are also struggling near the bottom of the standings.

The soldiers have two points from four matches and occupy 17th position after losing 1-0 to Kenya Police in their most recent outing.

The result left Ulinzi searching for their first victory of the campaign, with their goal difference standing at -3.

They will need to improve their results quickly if they are to avoid becoming increasingly isolated in the relegation battle.

Tusker are 16th with three points from only two matches.

The Brewers have a positive goal difference of +1 despite their position, having won one of their opening fixtures before losing to Mathare United.

Posta Rangers, Kakamega Homeboyz, Bandari and Nairobi United are also positioned in the lower half of the table, each with four points.

Their proximity to the relegation places means that a short run of defeats could quickly worsen their situations.

Nairobi United have played five matches and have a goal difference of -1, while Bandari have the same number of points from five games.

Homeboyz and Posta Rangers have each collected four points from four matches.
