RunStar launches tube-free wireless blood pressure monitor in USA
The device combines an adjustable upper-arm cuff and monitoring unit in a single assembly, eliminating external tubes and cables.
USA—RunStar has launched the LoopGo Wireless Blood Pressure Monitor (BP-202) in the United States to expand its medical monitoring portfolio and make routine blood pressure checks more convenient.
The device combines an adjustable upper-arm cuff and monitoring unit in a single assembly, eliminating external tubes and cables.
Its compact design supports portability and allows users to fit the cuff with one hand.
The LoopGo measures systolic and diastolic blood pressure, as well as pulse rate, in less than 60 seconds.
Results appear on an integrated thin-film transistor (TFT) colour display with a flip-and-rotate mechanism that allows users to adjust the screen for easier viewing.
The monitor also provides visual alerts for unusual readings and incorrect cuff placement.
In addition, it announces results in five languages: English, French, German, Italian and Spanish, offering an alternative for users who prefer spoken feedback.
RunStar founder Frank Li said the company designed the device to address everyday usability challenges associated with conventional blood pressure monitors.
The integrated cuff and monitor, adjustable display and data-tracking features are intended to simplify routine measurements and help users maintain consistent monitoring habits.
Bluetooth connectivity and data storage
The LoopGo connects to the RunStar mobile application through Bluetooth, allowing users to synchronise measurements and review their readings over time.
The device also stores up to 99 measurements per user profile, providing access to recent results without requiring an immediate connection to the application.
Its rechargeable battery supports approximately 200 readings per full charge under standard operating conditions. Users can recharge the device through a USB-C connection.
Implications for home healthcare
The launch reflects the medical device industry’s continued focus on connected home monitoring equipment that combines measurement, data storage and mobile applications.
By integrating the cuff and monitor, RunStar is targeting users who prioritise portability and straightforward operation.
Bluetooth-enabled devices can also support more consistent tracking by making historical readings easier to review and share with healthcare professionals, where the application and relevant clinical workflows allow.
However, blood pressure measurements remain dependent on correct cuff placement, suitable measurement conditions and appropriate device use.
For manufacturers, integrating connectivity and user-friendly features into home monitoring equipment provides an opportunity to differentiate products in a competitive market.
The practical value of these devices also depends on measurement accuracy, usability and how effectively users can incorporate regular monitoring into their healthcare routines.
RunStar manufactures consumer health tracking hardware, producing product lines that include smart scales and blood pressure monitors intended to provide biometric data for personal health management.
