The Special Adviser to Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Special Duties and Strategy, Femi Fadairo, has urged Nigerian politicians and public office holders to emulate the spirit of contentment exemplified by the late Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti.
Fadairo said Fasoranti remained contented with what God had bestowed on him while alive, describing the virtue as an important lesson for political leaders.
He spoke during a condolence visit to the family of the late elder statesman in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
According to him, the late nationalist’s contentment was one of the qualities that made his life worthy of emulation.
”As a political figure in Nigeria, Baba Fasoranti had the spirit of contentment. All our politicians should emulate Baba’s spirit of contentment.
”While he was alive, he was very contented with what God had deposited for him, so everyone should emulate that,” he said.
Fadairo also described Fasoranti’s death as a significant loss to Akure Kingdom, Ondo State and the country, noting that the centenarian was a rare gem, mentor, father figure and leader.
”Akure has lost a rare gem, a mentor, a father and a leader. Today, we are here to commiserate with the entire Akure Kingdom, the family, the state and the nation,” he said.
The governor’s aide expressed hope that the family would find comfort following the death of the elder statesman and prayed for continued blessings for the family and the entire Akure Kingdom.
