Knowledge Musona set for his first coaching role

Knowledge Musona is set to take up his first coaching role after being appointed as Peter Ndlovu’s assistant at Scottland for the remainder of the season.

The former Warriors captain will combine his playing duties with his new responsibilities following the departure of Norman Mapeza and his technical team.

Ndlovu, who was previously the club’s team manager, will take charge as head coach, with Danger Fourpence promoted from the Scottland Academy to become the first assistant.

Musona will serve as the second assistant while continuing to play, taking up a player-coach role.

Goalkeeper Talbert Shumba will also be part of the new technical setup, combining his playing duties with the role of goalkeepers’ coach.

Musona’s new role comes after he recently attended a UEFA C Licence coaching course in Namibia, signalling his interest in pursuing a career in coaching.

The 36-year-old enjoyed a distinguished playing career that saw him represent clubs in South Africa, Belgium, Germany and Saudi Arabia, in addition to captaining the Zimbabwe national team.
