Keyamo Heads APC Air Mobilisation Director For 2027 Campaign

President Bola Tinubu has appointed minister of aviation and aerospace development Festus Keyamo as Director of Air Mobilisation for the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 re-election campaign, with the managing directors of two aviation agencies named as his deputies.

The appointment puts Keyamo in charge of coordinating air travel and aviation logistics for the ruling party’s presidential campaign ahead of the 2027 general election.

The managing director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, was named Deputy Director I, while Engr. Farouk Ahmed Umar will serve as Deputy Director II.

The appointments were announced in a statement issued on Sunday by Tunde Moshood, Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development.

The directorate is expected to coordinate air transportation for designated campaign officials and personnel, as well as plan travel arrangements for campaign activities across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.

According to the statement, the team will work with other campaign structures to ensure effective scheduling, coordination and deployment of logistical resources during the electioneering period.

Keyamo’s appointment draws on his experience as the minister responsible for Nigeria’s aviation sector, while the inclusion of the FAAN managing director and Umar is expected to strengthen the directorate’s operational and technical capacity.

However, the statement stressed that the directorate’s activities must comply with aviation safety requirements, electoral laws and other applicable regulations.

It also emphasised the need to separate political campaign operations from official government functions, stating that campaign-related arrangements must be handled through properly authorised channels.
