Ministry Orders Early School Closures as CS Ogamba Flags Off KCSE Exams, Vows Zero Cheating

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Mwanzi Ogamba has officially launched the 2026 national examinations and assessments season, signalling the end of the academic term for primary and secondary school students across the country.

All learning institutions have begun preparing to close by the end of next week to create a seamless, quiet environment for candidates sitting their final tests.

This official launch has brought a wave of excitement and anxiety as thousands of candidates prepare to demonstrate their academic achievements.

The Ministry of Education has aligned school calendars to ensure that non-candidate students vacate school grounds, allowing examination centers to operate smoothly without unnecessary distractions.

Principals and Headteachers have already received instructions regarding the early closures, ensuring pupils reach home safely before national testing officially begins.

Alongside the excitement of closing for the holidays, CS Ogamba has issued a stern warning against examination irregularities.

The Education CS has emphasized that the government has set up robust surveillance systems to safeguard the integrity of this year’s results.

Strict disciplinary and legal measures have been put in place to address any candidates, teachers, or center managers who attempt to engage in cheating or leak paper content ahead of schedule.

The ministry has collaborated closely with security agencies and intelligence officers to monitor distribution centers and exam hubs across all counties.

Parents, guardians, and education stakeholders have welcomed the comprehensive security measures while preparing to receive their children home early.

Teachers have finalized their final revision schedules, offering guidance to candidate classes as they enter the home stretch.

With the launch complete and security protocols fully activated, candidates have received every resource necessary to sit their exams under fair conditions.

As the academic year draws to a close, all eyes remain on the Ministry of Education to deliver a seamless and credible examination exercise nationwide.
