Ouaddou Breaks Silence on Tito Maswanganyi as Pirates Return Speculation Grows

Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has reportedly addressed Tito Maswanganyi’s uncertain future, with questions emerging over whether the midfielder could return to the Soweto giants following reports of his departure from Al-Khaldiya SC.

The future of South African midfielder Tito Maswanganyi has become a talking point following reports that his contract with Bahrain-based club Al-Khaldiya SC has been terminated.

The development has raised questions about the 24-year-old’s next career move, with Orlando Pirates emerging as a possible destination for discussion given his previous association with the Buccaneers.

According to a report published by Sports with Daily News on Sunday, October 25, 2026, Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou was asked about Maswanganyi’s situation and whether he would consider welcoming the midfielder back to the club.

In the report, Ouaddou is quoted as emphasising the importance of discipline, professionalism and respect for the technical team, suggesting that talent alone is not enough to succeed at the highest level.

The coach’s reported comments have drawn attention to the importance of maintaining the right attitude, particularly when a player faces uncertainty about his future.

Maswanganyi is a technically gifted midfielder whose creativity and ability to influence attacking play have made him a notable name in South African football.

However, questions surrounding his reported departure from Al-Khaldiya have placed his next career decision under the spotlight.

It is important to note that the claims concerning his contract situation and the coach’s remarks should be treated as reported information rather than independently confirmed facts.

One of the biggest questions surrounding the midfielder is whether a return to Orlando Pirates could become a realistic possibility.

The Buccaneers have regularly attracted attention for their recruitment decisions, and supporters will naturally be interested in the prospect of a familiar face returning to the squad.

According to the report, Ouaddou did not provide a straightforward answer when asked whether he would welcome Maswanganyi back, instead reportedly laughing and leaving the question unanswered.

That reaction has fuelled further speculation, although it does not establish whether the club is considering a reunion with the player.

Any potential return would depend on several factors, including the player’s contractual status, the club’s recruitment plans and whether both parties would be interested in pursuing such an arrangement.

For Maswanganyi, the immediate priority will be clarifying his professional future and determining the best next step in his career.

A possible return to South African football could offer an opportunity to rebuild momentum, while another move abroad could provide a fresh challenge.

However, until there is an official announcement from the player or the clubs involved, speculation about his next destination should be approached with caution.
