LILLIAN MUTAMBO’S TR1BAL STATEMENTS MUST BE ACTED UPON

Lillian Mutambo’s recent statements have crossed the line into dangerous tr|bal incitement and the promotion of tribal hegemony. Such statements threaten Zambia’s unity and should not be treated as ordinary political debate.

The 1948 Gen0cide Convention recognises “direct and public incitement to commit gen0cide” as a punishable act under international law.

The Zambian Government should therefore investigate Mutambo’s statements and, where the evidence establishes the relevant offence, bring the appropriate charges. If she is currently in the United Kingdom, Zambia should pursue the necessary legal and extradition arrangements to have her returned to Zambia to face the courts.

Tr1bal incitement must never be allowed to undermine One Zambia, One Nation.
