Tungwarara: I was airlifted to SA for business, not because I’m sick
Special Presidential Investment Advisor Paul Tungwarara has confirmed that he was airlifted to South Africa, but insists the trip was for business and not because he was ill.
Posting on X on Tuesday afternoon, alongside a video of himself feeding fish in a pond at his South African home, Tungwarara dismissed reports that he had suffered a health emergency.
“I’m enjoying my short visit to South Africa. Regai timbotsvage mari [Let’s focus on making money],” he wrote.
“Yes, I was airlifted to South Africa for my business errands, not because I’m sick! People should invest their precious time in productive activities rather than manufacturing falsehoods.”
His post followed reports that he had been airlifted to South Africa on Monday after a health emergency, just hours after vowing to keep flying in helicopters despite warnings issued after the death of Wicknell Chivayo.
According to those reports, Tungwarara was flown out in the early hours of Monday, landing at 1.21 am, after being diagnosed with angina, a heart condition.
