Zlatan Ibile Marries Davita Lamai in Lagos

Zlatan Ibile and Davita Lamai celebrated their traditional wedding in Oniru, Lagos, on Saturday, October 24, 2026, bringing together relatives, friends and prominent figures from Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

The ceremony marked another major milestone in their relationship, which has developed over several years and produced 2 sons. Although Zlatan is widely known for his street pop music, energetic performances and collaborations with fellow Nigerian artistes, the wedding offered a glimpse into his life away from the stage.

The celebration was tagged #DTTheUnion, a name that featured in the couple’s wedding announcement before the ceremony. Their announcement video, shared on October 8, 2026, introduced the wedding date and included a voice over from one of their children, giving the occasion a family centred touch.

The couple celebrated their cultural backgrounds through traditional clothing, accessories and ceremonial appearances. Their different outfits became one of the major talking points, particularly as they moved from an Edo inspired look to a second appearance influenced by Yoruba traditional fashion.

Davido Serves as One of Zlatan’s Groomsmen

Afrobeats star Davido was among the prominent personalities at the wedding, where he served as one of Zlatan’s groomsmen. His presence attracted attention, reflecting the close relationship between the 2 musicians and their history within Nigeria’s music industry.

Before the ceremony, Davido had shared a message on Instagram Stories describing the weekend as a “Heavy weekend” for his friend. He was subsequently seen in photographs and videos with members of the groom’s party, dressed in coordinated traditional attire for the occasion.

Davido reportedly arrived at the venue in a white Rolls Royce, adding another notable detail to his appearance. His participation went beyond attending as a guest, as his position among the groomsmen placed him alongside Zlatan during the wedding festivities.

The singer’s appearance also drew attention because of reports surrounding his encounter with Burna Boy at a nightclub during Zlatan’s bachelor party celebrations. The reported meeting generated interest because of the history of tension between the 2 musicians.

Zlatan, Davita Make Their First Appearance in Edo Inspired Outfits

One of the standout moments of the wedding was the couple’s first traditional appearance, which celebrated Davita’s Edo heritage through coordinated clothing, coral beads and elaborate accessories.

Davita wore a custom burgundy gown designed by Dova Bridals. The dress featured a corseted mermaid silhouette, a sweetheart neckline and sheer long sleeves, while intricate red beadwork arranged in lattice patterns gave the outfit its distinctive finish.

Her accessories included an Edo inspired braided crown known as an Okuku, layered coral necklaces and a sheer crimson veil. She also carried a black horsehair fly whisk, completing a look that combined traditional elements with contemporary bridal styling.

Zlatan complemented his partner in a custom cream coloured ensemble designed by Deji & Kola. His outfit featured a textured ivory outer garment with red beadwork along the shoulders and hem, creating a coordinated appearance alongside Davita’s burgundy gown.

Layered coral beads, an ivory ceremonial cap and a carved wooden staff completed the rapper’s look. The matching colours and accessories made the couple’s first appearance one of the defining fashion moments of the celebration.

The Couple Unveil Their Second Traditional Looks

The fashion highlights continued when Zlatan and Davita appeared in a second set of outfits inspired by Yoruba traditional clothing. The change offered a different look from their earlier Edo inspired appearance while maintaining the coordinated styling that characterised their wedding.

Zlatan wore a mint green agbada with cream embroidered panels, accompanied by a matching cap, traditional beads and a dark green walking cane. The flowing outfit gave the rapper a different appearance from his earlier cream ensemble, with the embroidery adding detail to the traditional design.

The couple later shared photographs of themselves wearing the second outfits, with Zlatan using the caption “MR & MRS OMONIYI.” The photographs provided another glimpse of their celebration and highlighted the contrast between the 2 traditional styles they presented during the wedding.

Phyno, Teni, Iyabo Ojo Among Celebrity Guests

The wedding attracted personalities from Nigeria’s music, film, comedy and social media industries, reflecting Zlatan’s connections across different parts of the entertainment scene.

Among the musicians reported at the ceremony were Phyno, Teni, Peruzzi, Small Doctor, Chinko Ekun, Reekado Banks, Fola and Shoday. Their reported attendance added to the music industry presence at an event centred on one of Nigeria’s recognisable street pop artistes.

Other names associated with the wedding included K1 De Ultimate, Do2dtun, Yhemolee and Berri Tiga, alongside content creator Destiny. Their presence reflected the couple’s relationships with entertainers whose work spans music, comedy, film and digital content.

Businessman Abu Abel, nightlife entrepreneur Cubana Chief Priest, music executive Soso Soberekon and socialite Rahman Jago were also reported at the event. Davido’s associates Israel DMW and Lati DMW, alongside cinematographer TG Omori, were among the other personalities identified in reports about the gathering.

Romantic Moments Between Zlatan, Davita

Beyond the outfits and celebrity appearances, videos from the wedding captured personal moments between Zlatan and Davita as they celebrated their marriage in front of family members, friends and invited guests.

The couple were seen dancing together and sharing kisses, giving attendees and viewers a glimpse of their affection during the celebration. The moments stood out against the larger gathering, where music, traditional fashion and interactions among entertainers formed part of the occasion.

One video attracted particular attention because Zlatan appeared shy while dancing at his own wedding. The moment offered a lighter side of the rapper, whose public image is often associated with energetic performances and the confident delivery that has defined much of his music career.

His behaviour during the dance became another talking point as viewers shared clips from the ceremony. The footage showed a more relaxed side of the entertainer, with the couple appearing to enjoy the celebration together.

For Davita, the wedding marked a public celebration of a relationship that had developed away from the constant attention surrounding Zlatan’s career. Their affectionate moments added a personal dimension to an occasion that featured prominent figures from the entertainment industry.

Davita Reveals How Zlatan Got Her Phone Number

A teaser for the couple’s wedding documentary offered a glimpse into how their relationship began, with Davita recalling that Zlatan was too shy to ask for her phone number directly.

According to her account, the rapper asked another person to obtain her contact details instead of approaching her himself. The story provided a personal detail about the early stages of their relationship and contrasted with the confidence Zlatan displays during performances and public appearances.

The account also gave the couple’s wedding publicity a more intimate angle, focusing on the people at the centre of the celebration.

Although Zlatan’s music career has placed him in the public eye for years, details about his relationship with Davita have generally attracted attention during major personal milestones. Her recollection offered another piece of their story as they marked their traditional wedding.

Their 2 Sons Feature in the Wedding Announcement

Zlatan and Davita’s 2 sons featured in the announcement of their wedding, which was shared on social media on October 8, 2026, more than 2 weeks before the traditional ceremony.

The announcement video included a voice over from one of the children, who reflected on the relationship between his parents and the atmosphere within their family. His contribution gave the announcement a personal touch, presenting the wedding as a family milestone rather than simply a celebrity event.

The child described love through laughter, mutual support and the feeling of being loved at home. He also acknowledged the role he and his younger brother play in their parents’ love story, bringing the children into the public announcement.

Their involvement reflected the family life Zlatan and Davita had built before their traditional wedding. By October 24, when the ceremony took place in Lagos, the couple had already introduced the occasion to the public through the announcement and its family centred message.

Reports Emerge About Zlatan, Davita’s Civil Wedding

Before the traditional ceremony, reports emerged suggesting that Zlatan and Davita had already held a private civil wedding.

Photographs showing the couple wearing wedding rings reportedly fuelled speculation about their marital status earlier in 2026. The images prompted interest in whether they had formalised their union before announcing the traditional celebration.

The October 24 ceremony brought their families, friends and entertainment industry associates together for the traditional wedding. It also provided the public with a closer look at the couple through photographs, videos and their different traditional outfits.

Israel DMW Reveals He Paid ₦1.2 Million for Aso Ebi

Another story surrounding the wedding involved the reported cost of the aso ebi worn by guests. According to reports published before the ceremony, Israel DMW disclosed that he paid ₦1.2 million for the wedding fabric.

Aso ebi is a coordinated clothing tradition in which family members, friends and invited guests wear selected fabrics for weddings and other celebrations. The practice creates a shared appearance among groups attending an event, particularly at large traditional weddings.

The reported amount attracted attention because of the expenses associated with attending high profile celebrity celebrations. Alongside transportation, accessories and other preparations, purchasing designated wedding fabric can add considerably to the cost of participating in such an occasion.

Israel DMW’s reported payment became one of the financial talking points connected to Zlatan’s wedding preparations.

Victor Boniface Reportedly Sends Zlatan 3 Cows

Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface was also reported to have sent Zlatan 3 cows ahead of the traditional wedding. The reported gesture added another detail to the preparations surrounding the celebration and highlighted the stories circulating about contributions from people connected to the rapper.

The gift attracted attention because livestock can form part of traditional wedding contributions and celebrations. Boniface’s reported gesture became another talking point among the stories surrounding the couple’s preparations for their big day.

Zlatan Reportedly Surprises Davita With Luxury Gifts

Stories about the couple’s preparations also included reports that Zlatan presented Davita with luxury gifts during her bridal shower.

According to reports published around the wedding, the rapper gave his partner a diamond necklace, a Birkin bag, Christian Louboutin heels and a wristwatch. The gifts attracted attention because of the luxury brands and their association with the couple’s celebration.

The reported presentation added a romantic element to the preparations, particularly as the couple approached their traditional wedding after building a relationship over several years and raising 2 children together.

How Zlatan, Davita Announced Their Wedding Date

Zlatan and Davita publicly announced October 24, 2026, as their wedding date in a social media video shared on October 8. The announcement carried the name #DTTheUnion and featured a voice over from one of their sons.

The video gave followers an advance look at the family milestone and established the date ahead of the ceremony in Oniru, Lagos. It also introduced the family centred approach that featured in the announcement, with their child reflecting on the love shared by his parents.

Earlier in July 2026, the couple had reportedly informed friends and associates about their forthcoming wedding while travelling to music executive Soso Soberekon’s wedding. The reported conversation offered an earlier indication that they were preparing for their traditional celebration.

The October announcement subsequently brought the date into the public eye, setting the stage for the celebrity appearances, traditional outfits and family moments that followed on October 24.

Zlatan’s Music Career, Family Life

Zlatan, whose full name is Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael, rose to prominence through Nigeria’s street pop scene, establishing himself with energetic songs, distinctive dance trends and collaborations with other artistes.

His popular songs include Zanku (Leg Work), Lagos Anthem and Shotan. His career has also included several music projects and collaborations that have helped maintain his presence in Nigeria’s contemporary music industry.

While his professional life regularly places him before audiences, Zlatan has generally kept much of his family life away from constant public attention. His relationship with Davita has developed over several years, with the couple raising 2 sons before celebrating their traditional wedding.

The October 24 ceremony brought renewed attention to their relationship, with the wedding offering a public occasion for the rapper, his partner and their children to mark the milestone alongside friends and associates.
