Ex-Chiefs star pens 3-year deal in Eswatini

MBABANE – MTN Premier League outfit Amawele FC have completed the signing of former Kaizer Chiefs midfield maestro Siphelele Ntshangase on a three-year contract.

Ntshangase returns to professional football after a three-year absence, following stints with Baroka FC, Mohlabile United and Makotopong Bahumi FC.

According to team Manager Simiso ‘Space’ Jele, the playmaker has already joined the Msunduza-based squad at their temporary training base at St Mark’s Primary School Sports Ground. He joins fellow South Africans Aichel Calane and Junior Letwaba in the Tamshana lineup.

The acquisition comes during a turbulent period for the club. Director Chief Ally Kgomongwe recently dismissed Coach Mphumelelo ‘Mapho’ Ngwenya and his technical team just one game into the 2026/27 campaign following a 3-0 defeat to Ezulwini United.

Former Green Mamba gaffer Bongani Mhlongo was swiftly appointed to fill the void, taking charge of training ahead of their upcoming clash against Mbabane Highlanders AM next week.

Kgomongwe continues a trend of attracting notable former South African Premiership talent to local football, having previously brought in players such as Punch Masenamela, Josef Lekata and Thamsanqa Sangweni.
