In event management, many organisers focus on marketing the artist line-up and venue before the concert or festival. However, for Sandelly Gonteb, it’s not just about the event itself; it’s always about going the extra mile to make sure everything is in place and that it is a success.
This time around, he and the organising committee have taken it a step further ahead of the second edition of the Rumble at the Coast two-day event, with a theme song released earlier this week. Gonteb said that Rumble at the Coast is more than a year-end festival.
“The song is titled |Hao Da Si Ra which translates to ‘We Will See Each Other’, referring to all roads leading to Swakopmund this festive season. The line-up is a first-of-its-kind collaboration consisting of T-Bozz and Staika, Raphael and Pele, Dixon, Marvtown and Jaliza, with production being done by Renowned Producer Patrick Thaniseb of Dessert Tunes Productions,” he said.
Gonteb said last year they had an overwhelming response and attendance, which prompted the team to make it a two-day event this year.
“It’s a celebration of local cultural heritage through the power of upcoming and established Namibian music. 2026 has been a year in which local talent has exceeded expectations, so what better way to close off the year in the coastal town of Swakopmund than with a theme song? We will be hosting over 30 local acts across the two days, 26th and 27th December, at the Mondesa Stadium in Swakopmund.”
The song is already available on YouTube; the team decided to switch gears and include a music video while they were recording the song.
“With the theme song and the Rumble together, we decided to go all out to give our audience the best we can. We recently wrapped a video shoot for the theme song, which will drop soon. The official song is, however, already on YouTube, with the video dropping next week,” he explained.
Local artists have been attracting fans to live music shows again, and Gonteb and his company, Hoadadi Trading, have been instrumental in leading these initiatives.
“Hoadadi Trading has always believed in local acts. The amount of musical talent we have in this country is booming, and thank you to our leaders for the return of the Namibian Music Awards, which pushes artists to their limits. We believe in giving opportunities to Namibians before thinking of doing international acts. These artists have families to feed.”
The planning, he said, is going according to plan, and they have had a huge response on social media platforms regarding the event. Leading up to the event, the team will host activations, including a boat cruise and a camping activation. Activations will take place in Windhoek, Okahandja, Omaruru, Karibib, Usakos, Arandis, Henties Bay, Swakopmund and Walvis Bay, as well as a camping activation at Okarundu Campsite.
“To those who will be at the coastal areas during the festive period, this is a great way to release year-end fatigue and celebrate Namibian Artistry. Early bird tickets are already available at Webtickets/ Model Supermarkets,” he ended.
