If You Think Sifuna and His Team Will Support You, Kalonzo, You Are Completely Mistaken – Kipchumba

Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has sparked fresh political debate after delivering a pointed message to Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka over the possible political direction of Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and his allies.

In a statement shared by Nairobi Leo on Saturday, October 31, 2026, Murkomen cautioned Kalonzo against expecting Sifuna and his political team to support his ambitions. The CS argued that anyone banking on their backing could be making a serious political miscalculation.

“If you think Sifuna and his team will support you, Kalonzo, you are completely mistaken,” Murkomen stated.

His remarks introduce another interesting dimension into the ongoing discussions surrounding opposition politics and possible political partnerships ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Kalonzo has remained an influential figure in opposition politics, with his political experience and national profile placing him among the leaders frequently mentioned in conversations about the country’s next presidential contest.

Meanwhile, Sifuna has continued attracting attention because of his political influence, outspoken positions and growing association with discussions about the future of opposition politics.

The relationship between different opposition figures is particularly important as political leaders consider possible alliances, leadership arrangements and strategies that could shape the 2027 electoral contest.

Murkomen’s statement raises questions about whether political support can be guaranteed simply because leaders appear to share an interest in challenging the current political establishment.

However, his remarks should be understood as his political assessment rather than confirmation of Sifuna’s position or a formal declaration by the senator and his allies regarding whom they intend to support.

With the next General Election approaching, the question of who will command the backing of influential political figures is likely to remain a major subject of discussion.

Whether Sifuna’s political camp will eventually align with Kalonzo or pursue a different direction remains an issue that could attract further attention as political negotiations develop.

What is your opinion about Murkomen’s message to Kalonzo Musyoka? Do you think Sifuna and his team could support another opposition leader instead? Share your views, remarks and comments in the comment section.
