The ministry of international relations and trade (MIRT), the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) and the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) have invited Namibian companies to participate in the Angola–Namibia Business Forum scheduled for 17 October 2026 in Luanda, Angola.

The forum will take place on the sidelines of the Angola–Namibia Bi-national Conference from 17 to 20 October 2026.

The Namibian delegation will be led by International Relations and Trade Minister Selma Ashipala-Musavyi.

The business mission aims to strengthen economic and commercial relations between Namibia and Angola, while creating opportunities to expand trade, establish investment partnerships and develop joint ventures.

The programme will include high-level business engagements, networking and business-to-business (B2B) meetings.

Priority sectors identified for the mission include agriculture and agro-processing, trade, finance and banking, manufacturing, oil and gas, mining, medical tourism, education, infrastructure, and transport and logistics.

Namibian companies interested in joining the delegation will be responsible for their own participation costs.

The two countries have a long-standing bond of friendship, solidarity, and cooperation rooted in shared history, regional unity, and mutual socio-economic interests.

Namibia and Angola share a longstanding bond of friendship and solidarity, which dates back to Namibia’s struggle for independence.

Namibia and Angola have been working to strengthen bilateral ties and expedite progress on strategic areas of cooperation, especially in agriculture, trade and oil and gas.

The Trans-Cunene Corridor (TCC) has continued to play an increasingly important role in facilitating trade between Namibia and Southern Angola and remains a key component of the broader regional trade and transport network within the SADC region.

The TCC facilitates the transportation of a diverse range of commodities between Namibia and Angola, including petroleum and fuel products, vehicles, mining-related cargo, construction materials, consumer goods, food products and general retail consumables.

The corridor holds particular strategic value for the supply of goods into Southern Angola, owing to its considerably shorter transit distance from the Port of Walvis Bay compared to alternative Angolan ports such as Luanda, Lobito, or Namibe.

Several developments are positioning the Trans-Cunene Corridor for increased cargo movement and improved competitiveness.

A major milestone was the implementation of 24-hour operations at the Oshikango/Santa Clara Border Post, officially launched by the governments of Namibia and Angola in June 2024.

The round-the-clock border operations continue to enhance cargo movement efficiencies, reduce border-related delays, enhance trade facilitation, and support increased commercial activity between the two countries.
